Lebanon is internationally recognized for producing some of the Mediterranean’s finest olives, extra virgin olive oil, and wine grapes. Olive trees cover approximately 590 km², representing about 9% of Lebanon’s agricultural land, with many groves averaging 150 years old. Nearly 70% of the country’s olives are used to produce premium extra virgin olive oil, much of which is exported to the United States, Canada, the Gulf region, and Europe.
Lebanon is also one of the world’s oldest wine-producing regions, with a winemaking history spanning more than 6,000 years. The fertile Bekaa Valley is home to internationally acclaimed vineyards producing award-winning wines from both indigenous and international grape varieties. Today, Lebanon has more than 80 wineries, and its wines are exported to over 40 countries, making viticulture one of the country’s most promising agricultural investment sectors.
Whether investing in an olive grove, vineyard, or agricultural estate, buyers gain access to productive land, internationally recognized products, and opportunities in value-added agriculture, agri-tourism, and export markets.
